Melbourne: National Gallery of Victoria, 1943.
To be opened by the Rt. Hon. Lord Mayor on Tuesday, 16th March, 1943... With an Appreciation by George Bell. A scarce exhibition catalogue surveying the work of Hugh Ramsay.
"Hugh Ramsay was born in Glasgow in 1877, and was brought to Melbourne the following year, and can thus be fairly claimed as an Australian. One of the most promising students who ever attended the National Gallery School, Ramsay set out for Paris in 1900, and within two years was exhibiting at the New Salon... Ill health compelled a speedy return to Australia, where his death at the age of twenty-nine cut short a life that can be measured not in years, but in richness of achievement." D.L.
