Les Poupèes a Habiller: Rouquette a L'Ecole

Les Poupèes a Habiller: Rouquette a L'Ecole

Paris, circa 1930.

A charming “album-jouet” ephemeral work using the dressing of cut-out dolls both to amuse young girls, and sneakily to educate them in the correct attire for study and school.

In completely fine condition this charming and ephemeral work tells the story of Rouquette a gorgeous little girl who is beautifully dressed by her nanny. She and her sisters, messy Micheline and naughty Colette have to stay inside because of the rain, so they do some lessons causing lots of trouble.

Unusually, on the fold out page all the cut out pieces provided to dress the girls and decorate their classroom are still intact; a rare children's pamphlet and a stylish example of juvenile Parisian fashion.
