The Ackymals is one of Williamson's short, standalone pieces of fiction from a prolific body of work that extends to well over fifty titles. James and Cecil Johnson of the Windsor Press were born in Sydney in 1897 and 1900 respectively. After serving in the First World War they established the Windsor Press in San Francisco.
